Great News!
In August of 2015 the Vice Postulator for Matt Talbot’s Cause for Canonization announced at St Gabriel’s Church in the Grays Ferry neighborhood of South Philadelphia that it would be the home of the National Shrine to Matt Talbot.
Almost 6 years later we are joy-filled to announce that the parish shrine (one step at a time!) to Matt Talbot will be dedicated on Sunday May 2, 2021, Matt Talbot’s 165th birthday!
We will dedicate the shrine following the 10:00 AM Mass at St. Gabriel’s with a May Procession and light refreshments after.
Initially the shrine will be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 AM (daily Mass) until at least 6:00 PM. As we get more volunteers to keep the church open we will expand the days and hours. Keep coming back for more information!
